"On Trend: Golden Eye Makeup"

Hey Guys!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday. Earlier this month I was watching Tanya Burr on YouTube (she is a seriously amazing makeup artist and she now has her own line of lip gloss and nail polish) and in her "My Spring Everyday Makeup Tutorial!" video she did the most gorgeous “On Trend” golden eye makeup. So I am going to do my version today: “On Trend: Golden Eye Makeup!”

Step 1: Prime- The first thing I do is prime my eyes. My absolutely favorite and the one I used is the smashbox “Photo Finish Lid Primer.” I love this primer for two reasons, it keeps my eye shadow on all day without creasing and it helps to neutralize the colors on my eye so I have a nice even skin tone to start with.

Step 2: Now I am going to go in with my Laguna Bronzer (any bronzer will do). I am going to take the bronzer from the lashes all the way into the crease, stopping just before under the brow bone and blend.

Step 3: Take a golden highlight shade, I am using this one in my Physicians Formula Shimmer strip in “Vegas Strip”, and pop that all over the lid and blend.

Step 4: Take the lightest, golden shade and pop that in the inner corner and blend.

Step 5: Liner- Instead of doing a cat eye liner, like Tanya did, I am going to use a dark brown pencil (I am using the Milani “Liquid Eye” in shade “05 Brown) and line the outer corner (both top and bottom) and then smudge out with a smudge or pencil brush.

Step 6: Tight line and Mascara- I like to tight line my upper lash line to create more definition, however it is not a mandatory step. Then apply your favorite mascara to finish the look. I used one of my favorites, the “They’re Real” mascara from Benefit.

            All done:

Here is what I used on the rest of my face and a short story about my skin! The past week or so my face has just shriveled up. It has become so dry that it hurts sometimes. Normally I have normal to combination skin so I was very not prepared for this dry spell to happen. Due to the dryness, none of my face products have been sitting as well as normal. So there is no powder products used other than what I used on my eyes.

What I am wearing on the rest of my face:
  • Face Primer: Laura Mercier Hydrating Face Primer
  • Foundation: Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB Beauty Balm
  • Face Concealer: Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer
  • Under Eye Concealer: Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer &Highlight
  • Bronzer: Nars Bronzer in “Laguna”
  • Blush: Tarte Cheek Stain in “Flush”
  • Highlight: Benefit “Watt’s Up” Highlighter
  • Setting Spray: Urban Decay “Chill” Setting Spray
  • Eyebrows: MAC eyebrow pencil in “Strut” and Maybelline “Great Lash” clear mascara to set.
  • Lip: Revlon Lip Butter in “025 Peach Parfait”

Thank you guys so much for reading! I thought this was a fairly easy and pretty makeup look so I wanted to recreate it. I hope you enjoyed it!

            Love Ya,
                   Mallory
