Words of Wisdom Wednesday!

Hey Everyone!!

This week’s, Words of Wisdom post comes from a picture I found on Google.  A few nights ago, while waiting for my pictures to download, I was just playing around on the computer when I found this quote:

"You can never cross the Ocean unless you have the Courage to lose sight of the Shore." I found this quote from Google and this is the site it took me too.

I found it very suiting to my own life.  Now, clearly I didn’t take this quote literally because visiting different countries across the ocean is something I plan on doing next summer (by then I will have enough money to go backpacking!! lol).  Anyway, doing the things that I want in life can sometimes be difficult. It’s human nature to worry about what others will think of us, therefore making us put off what we want to do most. It can even be as simple as wearing something we don’t usually wear or something that attracts attention to ourselves. Like wearing a red lip!
For the longest time I did not have the courage to wear red lipstick because it’s bold and draws attention to myself. One day I realized that I liked red lipstick and other bright lip colors, so I decided to give it a shot and got a lot of compliments! From that day on I have been slowly tackling things that I did not have the courage to previously do in life.  Those things could be as silly as wearing a bold, bright lip, to something more serious, like commitment in a relationship.
It does not matter what the situation is, but how you can find the courage to beat it. I sincerely hoped you enjoyed today’s Words of Wisdom Wednesday and that you found it relevant to your own life.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect Review!!

Hey Everyone,

This July’s Birchbox brought a handful of wonderful sample products, one of which clearly stood out as the shining star! The Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect is a wonderful addition to my hair care routine! This leave-in conditioning mist not only leaves my hair baby soft, (even on my day 3 hairs!) but it also protects against UV rays, acts as a detangling spray, and helps lock in color treated hair color!

My New Hair Care LOVE! (Birchbox Sample size!)
The product is in a mist form and comes in a white bottle with a black top.  And let’s just talk about the smell for a moment! Oh my goodness, it’s heavenly! The Birchbox website says it has a floral smell but to me it smells like Smarties! That’s right, the actual candy from our childhood! Man, it brings back some great memories! It is 100% vegan, and it’s gluten, paraben, sulfate and sodium chloride FREE!!! (A list of all ingredients will be listed below!) It is manufactured in the United States (whoa, go US!).  It is suitable for all hair type during all seasons of the year.
To use, spray onto shampoo and(or) condition damp, towel dried hair and comb through. Now that this product and myself have found each other I don’t know what I would do without it. Seriously, I love it that much!  I will be ordering the full sized within the next few days while I can still get free shipping.
You can purchased this product from the Birchbox website for $32.00 (for 200ml of product).  It is also available here for the same price!
I hope you all found this review helpful and find this product as amazing as I do!

      XOXO,
       Mallory

New Marc Jacobs Makeup Review!!!

Hey Everyone!

A few days ago my Sephora box arrived on my doorstep containing a slew of goodies. Among those goodies were from the NEW Marc Jacobs cosmetic line, an eye shadow palette and lip gloss!
The NEW Marc Jacobs line from Sephora includes its Style Eye-Con No.7- Plush Shadows, which are eye shadow palettes with 7 eye shadow colors. There are two color options the first is 202 The Tease, which are gorgeous purple tones, and 204 The Starlet, more neutral warm and cool shades. The Style Eye-Con No.3- Plush Shadows are a trio of eye shadows. The colors included The Glam 108, which is advertised as “a warm cream, a metallic bronze with gold shimmer, and a peachy copper sheen,” and The Mod 112, which is advertised as, “a eggshell white, a black with iridescent shimmer, and a light grayish taupe.” The final eye product in the line is the Magic Marc’er Precision Pen, which is a liquid eyeliner that comes in the color Blacquer.
Moving on to the lip products in the line. Marc Jacobs offers a Lip Lock Moisture Balm, which is essentially a lip balm. The final product from the line is the Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl-Sheer, which is a sheer lip gloss. It comes in 304 Overprotected a “shimmering pastel pink,” 308 Heart Shaped, a “shimmering baby pink,” 302 Kissabilitiy, a “shimmering lilac pink,” 310 Studded Kiss, a “shimmering berry lavender,” and 312 Lust for Life, a “shimmering reddish raspberry.”

The two products that I picked out were the Style Eye-Con No.7- Plush Shadow in 202 The Tease and the Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl-Sheer in 310 Studded Kiss.
So let’s dive right in with packaging. The eye shadows come in a sleek black case with the Marc Jacobs brand name in silver. Inside it comes with a pretty decent sized mirror for the sleek packaging.

A black piece of plastic protects the shadows. As for the colors, labeled 1-7 for names, they are mostly all very pigmented, a dream to apply with no creasing and barely any fallout, and long lasting.

Colors Left to Right:1,2,3,4,5,6,7.
The only disappointment that I found with the eye shadows was number 7. It looks absolutely gorgeous in the pan, but it doesn’t look quite as good on the eyes.  Overall, I absolutely love this palette and cannot wait to get it in the other color.

L-R: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

The packaging for the lip gloss is also sleek, with a clear body, black twist cap, and the Marc Jacobs name in silver. The
applicator that it comes with is flat and easily bendable.

I must say I am not a fan of this applicator, as it took me a few tries to figure out how to really use it without smearing lip gloss all over my face. As for the product itself, there is sort of a lip gloss smell about it that might bother some people, but I can live with it. Once applied to the lips it gives off a tingly sensation (again I don’t mind this, but some might.). The thing that really gets me is the taste. It’s a minty, manufactured lip gloss taste that I am not a fan of. So far it hasn’t stopped me from wearing the gloss, but it’s something that definitely bothers me when I where it.  As for the color, it’s gorgeous.

It’s too bad it doesn’t last longer than it actually does. After I originally applied the color to my lips, within five minutes that color had faded. And forget about eating or drinking, which wipes the color right off. Overall, I love the color, but do not like the taste, application, and longevity of this product.
The Marc Jacobs cosmetic line will be available in Sephora on August 9th, 2013. So if you’re in Sephora, I would definitely say check out the eye shadows, because I really do think that they are very good. All of the prices for the products are listed below:
        Style Eye-Con No.7- Plush Shadows-  $59.00
        Style Eye-Con No.3- Plush Shadows-  $42.00
        Magic Marc’er Precision Pen (.016oz)- $30.00
Lip Lock Moisture Balm (.15oz)- $24.00
        Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl-Sheer (.16oz)- $28.00

Thank you all so much for reading and I really hope you found this review helpful!

Mini Sephora Haul!

Hey Everyone,

One Friday morning about a week ago, I was sipping my Earl Grey tea and checking my emails. I was minding my own business when a Sephora email appeared on my screen and, of course, being the makeup junkie that I am, I eagerly clicked it open. What I found was the new Marc Jacobs collection available to order for VIB'S for two days only!!! How could I pass this up? I apparently couldn’t, so hence we have a mini Sephora haul for today.

Being the huge Marc Jacobs fan that I am, I eagerly viewed all the products and picked out two that I thought were gorgeous and could not leave without. The two that I chose were an eye shadow palette in “202 The Tease” (love this name!) and a lipgloss in “310 Studded Kiss.” I also picked up the “Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick” in “Nudist” because I am a huge fan of Fleur (from FleurdeForce, but I’m sure you guys already know and love her) and she has raved about it for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s amazing (and totally rave-worthy!!)

I love ordering things from Sephora’s website because of the generous amount of samples you get. On this order I picked out the “Hampton Sun, SPF 15 Super Hydrating Face Cream,” the “Cover Fix, Foundation Shade Samples,” and the “Carols Daughter, Monoi Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner (I am super excited about this one!). In addition to those three I was also sent a sample of the new Marc Jacobs perfume in Honey. I used my Beauty Insider points to pick up the Caudalie Brighten and Renew Kit and cannot wait to try this out!
Keep reading this blog for an in depth review of the Marc Jacobs products with swatches!
